Beautiful furniture, built by quality Amish hands

Long Creek Cabinetry builds beautiful, custom-built furniture and cabinetry — made by hand, in solid wood, by quality Amish hands. This is not just cabinetry. It is furniture made for your home, your size, and your wood.

Not just cabinetry.

Long Creek Cabinetry is Amish-built, through and through. The work is done by quality Amish hands — careful hands, steady hands, hands that know wood. What comes out of the shop is beautiful custom-built furniture: pieces made one at a time, for the home they are going to live in.

It is not one-size-fits-all. You choose the wood. You choose the size. The piece is built to fit your room and your life.

A family woodworking tradition · Chris Keim

Where It All Began

My story began in Montana in 2002, where I grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of my dad's little furniture shop. While other kids were out playing, I could often be found wandering between stacks of lumber, watching sawdust fly, and learning that a simple piece of wood could become something beautiful with a little patience and a lot of hard work.

My dad has been in the woodworking business for as long as I can remember, and somewhere along the way, his passion became mine. What started as a childhood spent underfoot in the workshop grew into a lifelong love of woodworking.

Today, I've taken on much of the family business, building a workshop of my own with tools I've acquired over the years. But these aren't the modern electric machines you might expect. Our workshop still operates using traditional, non-electric woodworking equipment, carrying forward the methods and craftsmanship of generations past.

Long Creek Cabinetry remains family-owned and operated, rooted in the same values I grew up with.

Good craftsmanship, honest work, and a little sawdust along the way.

Inside the shop: their work area

These are photographs of their work area — the real shop, taken inside it. No people, and no finished furniture — just the tools, the wood, and work in progress, in the shop where every piece is built by hand.

The Amish craftsmen at Long Creek Cabinetry live without electricity or telephones in their homes. They utilize a shared community telephone to communicate with customers and conduct business, while continuing to live without many of today's modern conveniences — which makes the beautiful craftsmanship they create by hand, right here in their work area, even more incredible.

Doors and drawers, made to fit the piece

Cabinet doors and drawers are built in the same wood, to the same care, as the cabinet or furniture they belong to — so the whole piece looks and feels like it was made together, because it was.

New doors and drawers for a new build, or doors and drawers made to fit what you already have. Tell the shop what you have in mind, and it will build what fits.

What we build

The cut list below is the work of the shop. Custom furniture leads the list — because that is the heart of it — followed by cabinets, doors, drawers, and the rest.

This secretary cabinet is custom-built furniture by Chris Keim — upper double doors, small drawers, a slanted writing-desk front, and lower drawers below, all in solid wood, built by quality Amish hands.

The photographs show one cabinet, closed and open: the closed view, plus four open views of the same cabinet — the full front view with its doors open and its desk down, an angled open view, a close look inside the desk, and a side open view.

It is the kind of piece the shop builds one at a time: any type of wood you want, any size — big or small — made to fit the home it is going to live in.

One piece that switches around — three ways

This is one piece, not three different pieces. Set it one way and it is a highchair. Turn it around and it becomes a little rocking horse. Turn it again and it becomes a seated desk to work from.

The three photographs with this piece show the same one item, three ways, so you can tell what you are actually looking at in each picture. It is built in solid wood, by quality Amish hands.

Write to the shop about the piece you have in mind — any type of wood you want, any size, big or small.

One piece · Three ways

How this one piece switches around

These are not three pieces of furniture. They are the same one piece, shown three ways. Look for the same wood and the same shape, set a different way in each picture:

  1. Highchair Set it this way, and it is a highchair. This is the first picture, above.
  2. Little rocking horse Turn it around, and the same piece becomes a little rocking horse, with its curved rockers underneath. This is the second picture, below.
  3. Seated desk Turn it again, and the same piece becomes a seated desk to work from. This is the third picture, below.
